Backyard History TV Series Green Lit by Bell (francais a suivre)
Fredericton, New Brunswick – Get ready to unearth the hidden stories that happened right in New Brunswick’s own backyard with the forthcoming new TV show Backyard History, which was just announced today.
Inspired by Andrew MacLean’s popular newspaper column (Backyard History), podcast (Backyard History), and website (backyardhistory.ca), Backyard History has already garnered a loyal and engaged following.
"I am thrilled to announce the launch of our new TV show, Backyard History, which will be airing on demand on Bell Fibe TV. This exciting series delves into the rich tapestry of New Brunswick's history, unearthing untold stories and hidden gems that have shaped our province,” said author, columnist, researcher and now TV show host Andrew MacLean.
Backyard History was presented to Bell Canada’s Fibe TV1 channel and the project was approved for funding. TV1 has been shining a light on stories not being told anywhere else, since 2012. By supporting local creators, they help bring those stories to life.
The show will be available to Bell Fibe TV subscribers on-demand by going to Channel 1 or on the Bell Fibe TV app
The forthcoming Backyard History TV show is set to enter production in New Brunswick in October, 2023. Through a captivating blend of archival imagery and on-site investigations, Backyard History promises to transport audiences on an incredible journey through time, unearthing the often hilarious, mostly mysterious, always surprising untold tales of Canada’s East Coast.
Backyard History promises to take viewers all over New Brunswick, showcasing stories from Miscou to Fundy, from Madawaska to Saint John.
“Backyard History is a tribute to the ordinary people and places that have extraordinary tales to tell. Through our exploration, we hope to ignite a sense of pride, curiosity, and connection to the vibrant history of New Brunswick. Get ready to embark on an unforgettable journey through time as we unveil the hidden stories that lie within our own backyards," said MacLean.
The series will be produced by New Brunswick-based film and television production company, Cultivation Pictures (cultivationpictures.com), with Cultivation partners Clem McIntosh and Sandy Hunter working closely with MacLean to develop and create this first season’s New Brunswick focused lineup of episodes.

La série sera produite par l'entreprise de production cinématographique et télévisuelle du Nouveau-Brunswick, Cultivation Pictures (cultivationpictures.com), avec les partenaires de Cultivation Clem McIntosh et Sandy Hunter travaillant en étroite collaboration avec MacLean pour développer et créer la série d'épisodes axés sur le Nouveau-Brunswick de cette première saison.
